Mosquito Prevention Program
The Mosquito Prevention Program is designed to reduce mosquito populations around your home by treating breeding sites as well as mosquito nesting and resting areas. We aim to keep these disease-harboring insects at bay so you can enjoy your time outdoors.
Here’s how it works:
Step One: Identification
One of our experienced technicians will walk your property with you to determine breeding areas as well as areas vulnerable to infestation. They’ll point out areas that are most conducive to mosquitoes.
Step Two: Mitigation
We’ll work with you on a plan to reduce your risks. Recommended actions often include clearing brush, removing standing water, and monitoring for changes.
Step Three: Treatment
We apply larvicides in areas with standing water that cannot be eliminated and in areas which are subject to periodic standing water. In addition, we fog all trees and shrubs with an EPA approved product that is non-toxic to bees, making it more environmentally friendly.
Some tips for preventing mosquitoes include:
- Keep your gutters clean of debris and leaves.
- Drill holes in the bottom of your recycling containers and garbage cans.
- Repair outdoor faucets that are leaking.
- Change water in bird baths weekly as standing water attracts mosquitoes.
- Remove water collected on tarps around your home.
- Change water in pet dishes regularly.
